Day 2, 3, 4 Deception Valley. Central Kalahari Game Reserve

Your Guide will pick you up in the morning to start your journey to Deception Valley, Central Kalahari Game Reserve. You will have a picnic lunch enroute as well as good game viewing before your arrival in camp later in the afternoon. Your camp will already be set by your capable Crew who would have left Maun earlier than you. Your expected time of arrival at Deception Valley is around 1700hrs

The landscape of the Kalahari is mostly flat, interrupted in some areas by endless valleys carved by ancient rivers that once carried waters from rivers further north. It is mostly dry, and only the most adept animals can leave here, each animal and plant evolving own technique to survive. During the dry season the landscape becomes very drab but in areas where there are artificial water holes such as Sunday Pan, Passarge Pan, Letiahau and Pipers Pan the wildlife is often very exciting.

The Discover stays here for 3 nights. Activities: Morning and afternoon Game Drives.

    Day 5, 6 Nxai Pan

You wake up early in the morning to start your journey to Nxai Pan. You will have a picnic lunch enroute as well as good game viewing before your arrival in camp later in the afternoon. Your camp will already be set by your capable Crew who would have left Maun earlier than you. Your expected time of arrival in Nxai Pan is around 1700hrs.

Nxai Pan was proclaimed as a conservation area in the 1970s. It comprised only of 1 676 Km2. It was only declared a National Park in 1992, and enlarged to include Baine’s Baobabs. Today it comprises an area of 2 578Km2.

Nxai Pan is a series of fossil pans, all of which are covered in short, nutritious grasses. On the pans are islands of Acacia trees that form shady spots in which the animals rest during the day. This makes beautiful scenery and is unique to Nxai Pan. Baines Baobabs, 15km from the gate, were painted by early explorer missionary by the name of Thomas Baines in the late 1800s. They stand gigantically on the edge of a salt pan in the same shape and form today.

The Discover stays here 2 nights. Activities: Morning and Afternoon Game drives.

    Day 7, 8, 9 Khwai Concession Area.

You wake early in the morning to start your journey to the Khwai Concession area. You will have a picnic lunch enroute as well as good game viewing before your arrival in camp later in the afternoon. Your camp crew will break camp, and move it to Khwai where it will be functional upon your arrival late in the afternoon.

Set east of Moremi Game Reserve Khwai is undoubtedly one of the top wildlife destinations in the world. It is a wildlife management area, allowing free movement of wildlife across its borders. The Khwai floodplains contrast beautifully with the lush island vegetation of Moremi Game Reserve and the rest of the Okavango Delta. Head upon head of animals come down to drink from the Khwai river, drawing along predators from the woods. The bird life is exquisite.

The Discover stays here for 3 nights. Activities: Morning Game drives, Afternoon Game drives, Night Drives (Optional), Bush Hiking (Optional)

    Day 10, 11, 12 Xini/ Xakanaxa, Moremi Game Reserve

The landscape of Moremi is friendly, consisting mainly of Mopane Trees and grey white tracks that wind their way through the landscape. In parts the Mopane trees attain gigantic proportions, forming a magnificent cathedral of forest that dwarfs everything in its wake.
